Toddlers are Funny

Amelia cracks us up laughing all the time.  And she loves to laugh herself.  Lately she has taken to the nude.  All day long I am getting her dressed just to have her strip naked minutes later.  I'm not sure if this is something all Toddlers do, but I definitely remember her Auntie Erin being a nudist at that age.  In addition to being naked at all times, she loves giving pretend shots.  I get shots all day; in my arms, legs, belly, nose, forehead, etc..... and then I'm supposed to do the same to her.  And when daddy comes home he gets his shots too.  She loves to play sick "I'm Sick, Rest" is what she says as she covers up with a blanket on the floor/bed/couch.  Today as we walked into the grocery store she was saying "Sick" with a smile.  "No, Amelia you aren't sick" I kept saying.  And then she proved me wrong and vomited right there in the store.  Mommy failure, although in my defense she seems fine and as soon as we got home she was running around in the yard.  We'll try the grocery store in the afternoon if there are no more incidents.

Amelia is a very girly girl.  She loves to twirl in her dresses, wear jewelry and makeup, and she loves to carry a purse.  But that doesn't stop her from rolling down the hill, climbing the stone wall, or playing with cars.  Today she discovered the Cars movies.  She is so happy to watch these animated car characters (reminds of her cousin tyler).

Another thing about Amelia is that she hates bedtime.  This wasn't always the case.  She used to go down so easily, but not since she turned 2.  Now she starts crying as soon as the routine starts.  First is PJs then Daddy reads to her in the rocker, first some scriptures and then a fun book.  Then we pray and tuck her in with her Teddy and juice.  Then I sing to her.  She whimpers the entire time, trying to drag out each step saying "rock" "book" "juice" "potty" "song".  Despite her lack of desire to sleep usually 2 minutes after we close her door she is asleep.  But lately she has taken to falling asleep while Daddy reads her the scriptures.  This is very early in the bedtime routine (and she still naps most days).  By the end of the 2nd verse she is asleep.  I think it is because Daddy is so warm and comfy in the rocker that she just cuddles up and falls asleep, because she doesn't do that for me.  It is really cute though.

Daddy and Amelia like to play funny games.  One of which is the Bee Game.  Daddy points to an imaginary thing and says "Whats That", Amelia repeats "Whats That".  Daddy says "It's a Bee" and Amelia squeals "Bee" as Daddy's tickle finger comes at her buzzing "bzzzzzzz".  She loves to be tickled and will even lift up her arm and say "armpit" so you tickle her there.  Not my idea of fun, but Amelia loves it.  Good thing Daddy likes ticking just as much as Amelia likes being tickled.

Toddlers.  they are so much fun, and very funny (at least to this sleep deprived Mommy).
