More than you ever wanted to know about potty training Amelia

This morning I found myself getting rid of our remaining diapers.  I can't remember the last stinky diaper I changed.  Had I known it was going to be the last maybe I would have tried to enjoy it more.  Our 2 year old potty trained very easily.  We always had a potty there for her, and we gave it a shot many times but never with any urgency to potty train.  Then she turned 2 and she woke up one day and said "potty" that was it.  She never wanted a diaper after that.  It took us a little while to brave the outside world without a diaper but finally we realized we weren't doing her any favors putting her back in a pull up.  What is the worst thing that can really happen.  We keep a towel and a change of clothes and some wet wipes in the car just incase.  It has been weeks without an accident.  Everywhere we go it is an adventure to use the potty.  Walmart and Sam's Club have my favorite bathrooms because they have a "family" bathroom with a toilet her size which is super fun for her.     I have gotten used to the routine of using the potty multiple times when we are out and about and I have even accept the fact that sometimes we will be a little late getting places because the potty is a priority.  Never seems to fail, we go potty, then get in the truck, get buckled up, start backing up and I hear "POTTY".  Get out of the truck, back to the potty, and sure enough she goes again.  It has been fun to learn something new with Amelia, but I wish I could keep her a baby for awhile longer.  We are very proud of her.

In addition to using the potty Amelia has taken to doing lots of other things by herself.  She is little miss independant, but she has always been that way.  She loves to brush her own hair, and Mommy and Daddy's hair too.  She brushes her own teeth.  She likes to put on her own shirt, but she stretches out the neck hole and wears them like tube tops which drives me crazy.  She loves to read to herself, which is always fun to eavesdrop on.

2 today, 20 tomorrow.  It is going by so fast.  We are trying to take the time and enjoy every second.
