Summer has finally arrived this week. It is hot and very humid, and in my opinion miserable. I can't stand temperatures above 75 and I hate humidity. Aaron on the other hand thinks this has been the best weather so far this year. He loves the heat, and sweat, and hates the cold dry winters. This is probably the only thing we are 100% opposite on, so I guess we'll count that as a blessing. But that doesn't stop me from hoping we move someday to a colder climate, somewhere that never gets above 75.
Amelia had her second gymnastics class yesterday. It went much better. She still had to go to time out once but she did much better overall. She is actually pretty good. She has her father's upper body strength and can climb on the rope pretty well and swing on the rings. She has pretty good balance on the beam, and can even squat and step over obstacles pretty well. She really likes her teacher and the class. Her only real problem is changing from one set of activities to the next set, that is when the tantrums start. But she did much much much better waiting her turn this time. I'm feeling better about this class now and considering continuing it in the fall in place of ballet. Time will tell. Today was Amelia's last music class for the summer. We LOVED this class and look forward to taking another music class in the fall. I wish I had taken a picture, but the class is very active (for parents and children). Amelia has always been interested in music so I think we will be taking music classes for a long time.
So that is really it for updates.
July is Family Month. Aunt Theresa, Uncle Jeff, and Cousin Tyler came to visit from Michigan so we saw them Saturday. Today Aunty Erin, and Cousins Isabelle and Adrian arrive from California (and we'll see them tomorrow). Thursday we will all be off to the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, along with Uncle Barrent to visit Amelia's Great-Aunt Gloria and Family. It is so hard having family spread out all over the country. We go years without seeing many of our dearest loved ones. But it makes the time we have together all that more precious. And we are grateful for technology that lets us stay in touch more easily. Amelia and I are packed, we'll hit the road after our first swim class tomorrow. This will be her first time meeting her Auntie Erin and her cousins Isabelle and Adrian. Now she only needs to meet her Auntie Caitlin and Uncle Antoni (Christmas in Mexico with the Pinlac's? lol) and she will have met all of her first Aunts/Uncles/Cousins. This visit is sure to be an adventure, stories to come.
